hi archyive

give_aloha_groupFoodland just notified us that they will extend the Give Aloha matching gifts program to accept donations through Sunday night, October 2, at store’s closing or 11:59 pm (if it is a 24 hour store).

It’s not too late to have them match your gift up to $249, thereby doubling your contribution to the Legacy of Hope building fund!

Golf-TournamentWe are pleased to announce NHCO’s first ever golf tournament with proceeds to benefit the Legacy of Hope campaign.  Chaired by our very own Glenn and Gaile Nitta – the golf tournament will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2017 so save the date and invite all your family and friends!  The golf tournament committee needs your help in identifying golfers, volunteers and donations for a successful event.  For more information, please contact Gaile Nitta at

It is a rare thing for me to sit and write something directly from my heart to post in this space, but I wanted to do so for a very special reason today.  I want to tell you all about what one of our own NHCOers is doing online to follow Reynethe call of the Lord on his life.  His name is Reyne Lorenzo, and you make have seen him around church or playing bass on stage.  What you may not know is that he has a heart for evangelism like few others I have ever met.

He has spent several months creating an online place to equip believers to overcome fear and the obstacles that keep the gospel from being shared.  It is ALSO a place that those who are skeptical, or have questions, or have just begin their spiritual journey can go to get their answers.  He transparently uses his real life experiences and current events to encourage, embolden  and motivate us to get out there and make connections, be friendly, be accessible and let the light of Christ naturally transform our friends into faithful followers of Christ themselves.

In his blog posts that he publishes regularly, he offers real practical tips, and encourages us to see people the way God sees them, and to make intentional relationships.  His website is as beautiful as it is practical and he has personally encouraged and strengthened me to share my faith more easily.

I encourage each person reading this to visit, look it over and SUBSCRIBE (for Free, in the lower left of the page).  That way you’ll never miss a post and you’ll be encouraging one of our own members who is taking steps of faith to be obedient to the call he hears on his life.

Check it out!  Someone’s eternity might be changed because you do.
